I’m so in love with this bouquet (from Etsy shop Rosebud Lips) for so many reasons.
It will never die. There is something so tragicly fleeting about fresh flowers. The scent, the colors, the soft petals, and the ‘experience’ of a fresh bouquet is so brief.
It can be passed down. I saved my wedding dress, and I’m still scratching my head trying to figure out what to do with it. I debated turning it into a Christening gown for my daughter. I debated sending it off to a seamstress to chop it up and turn it into a lovely quilt. For a brief moment, I even debated turning it into throw pillows (pillows are generally treated with such disrespect, though, that I quickly nixed that idea.) I keep asking myself if I should just keep it just in case my daughter wants to wear it one day, however, that’s a lot of pressure which I certainly don’t want to put on her. “Honey, here is my wedding gown which I have held onto over the course of your lifetime. No pressure.” I really don’t want to do that to her. When Juliet puts her wedding gown on, I want her to picture her husband’s expression – not MY expression. Having an heirloom bouquet like this one would remedy the big wedding dress debate. A bouquet would be such a simple, no pressure item to pass on to the next generation.
It’s handmade by a very talented mom who works out of her home, and since I’m a fellow mom who works out of my home, I have a strong desire to help support these businesses.
It’s beautiful. It’s so beautiful, and I fell in love with it the moment I saw it.
